Mastering Difficult Conversations & Becoming Conflict-Confident

Stuart is joined by Jennifer Bloch, a certified leadership and executive coach, for a discussion on mastering difficult conversations and becoming conflict-confident. Jennifer is the Principal, and Founder of Touchpoint Leadership Coaching. She has spent over twenty years coaching leaders across multiple sectors, from Consumer Packaged Goods to Palliative Care. Her perspective is broad and unique to both corporate and healthcare industries. A graduate of McGill University and Royal Roads University, Jennifer’s professional journey as a Human Resource Manager, a Health Practitioner, and a Certified Executive Coach brings a unique perspective to organizations on interpersonal relationships. Her multidisciplinary experience provides Leaders with a holistic viewpoint of the various ways people engage in and deal with conflict. Jennifer believes that there are three basic principles that lead to mastering difficult conversations. Accommodation as a Conversation: Creating Welcoming Workplaces

Stuart is joined by Lorin MacDonald, human rights lawyer and disability advocate, for a conversation about accommodation and inclusion.

For decades, human rights lawyer Lorin MacDonald has demonstrated leadership, passion, and commitment to accessibility and inclusion in her volunteer and professional activities, all informed by her lived experience as a woman born with profound hearing loss. Recognized as one of Canada’s disability leaders, Lorin has made many aware of the challenges faced by Canadians with disabilities during COVID-19, in addition to her human rights and accessibility presentations. 

For the past three years, Lorin has been a nominee for Canadian Lawyer magazine’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers in the Human Rights category, named to the list in 2021. Also last year, the Women’s Executive Network included Lorin as one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100. In May 2022, the Law Society of Ontario bestowed upon Lorin the Law Society Medal, its highest honour, for outstanding service in recognition of her work to make the profession more accessible and inclusive.
